From an Ordinary Van to a Comfortable Home on Wheels

A Complete Campervan Transformation

Every motorhome has its own story. This one started life as an ordinary commercial van — practical and spacious, but never designed to be a home. The goal of this project was to completely transform it into a comfortable, functional and self-contained campervan suitable for both short weekend trips and longer journeys.

The result is a true home on wheels, where every available centimetre has been carefully used.

The Transformation

The original van provided a solid base for the project, but creating a proper motorhome required much more than simply adding a bed and a few cabinets.

The interior was completely redesigned and built around the needs of travelling and everyday living. The layout was planned to combine several functions within a relatively compact space while still keeping the interior comfortable and easy to move around in.

One of the most important aspects of the conversion was creating a feeling of space. The high roof provides excellent headroom and allows the interior to feel much larger than a conventional van.

A Fully Equipped Kitchen

The campervan features a proper kitchen area with a large worktop, sink, cooking facilities and plenty of storage.

Cabinets and drawers were integrated into the furniture so that cooking equipment, food and everyday essentials can be stored securely while travelling.

The combination of natural wood textures, dark cabinet fronts and the decorative backsplash gives the kitchen a modern but warm appearance.

This is not simply a place to prepare a quick cup of coffee — it is a practical kitchen designed for real travelling.

Comfortable Living Area

Opposite the kitchen is a comfortable seating and dining area.

The bright turquoise upholstery adds character to the interior and creates a pleasant contrast with the natural wood finish used throughout the van. A dining table provides space for meals, working on a laptop or simply relaxing in the evening.

Despite the limited dimensions of a van, the layout provides a surprisingly comfortable living environment.

Dedicated Sleeping Area

At the rear of the vehicle, a permanent sleeping area was created.

Having a dedicated bed means there is no need to rebuild the interior every evening before going to sleep. Storage has also been incorporated around and underneath the sleeping area, making efficient use of space that would otherwise be wasted.

The result is a practical layout where the kitchen, living area and bedroom can all remain ready for use at the same time.

Everything Needed for Life on the Road

A successful campervan conversion is not only about what can be seen.

Behind the furniture are the systems that turn a vehicle into a real motorhome: electrical installations, lighting, water systems, ventilation, heating and the equipment required for comfortable independent travel.

Every system has to work together reliably while also remaining accessible for future maintenance and servicing.

That is one of the biggest differences between simply fitting furniture into a van and building a proper motorhome.

Designed for Travel

The exterior retains the practical character of the original vehicle while clearly showing its new purpose.

The high roof dramatically increases the usable interior volume, while the side awning extends the living area outdoors when the vehicle is parked. The mountain-style graphics complete the campervan appearance without making the design overly complicated.

Most importantly, the vehicle remains compact enough to travel where much larger motorhomes may become inconvenient.

From Van to Vanlife

This project demonstrates what can be achieved with a well-planned conversion.

An ordinary van has been transformed into a comfortable mobile home with a kitchen, living area, permanent sleeping space, storage, lighting and all the essential systems needed for travelling.

It is no longer simply a vehicle for getting from one place to another.

It is a place to cook, relax, sleep and live — wherever the road leads.
